Yes. Hearts First Ambulance Service specialises in long-distance medical repatriation throughout the UK and Europe, including France, Spain, Germany, Italy, Austria, Poland and Ireland. Depending on the patient's condition and location, we can arrange transport by road ambulance, a medical escort on a commercial flight, or an air-ambulance charter. Every journey is carefully assessed and planned around the patient's individual clinical and comfort requirements.

We provide transport for patients with a wide range of medical and mobility requirements. Services include private patient transfers, hospital admissions and discharges, HDU and ITU transfers, bariatric transport, paediatric transfers, airport collections, and transport between hospitals, care homes, hospices and private residences. The appropriate crew, vehicle and specialist equipment will be selected following an assessment of the patient's needs.

The cost depends on the collection and destination addresses, journey distance, patient's medical condition, required clinical crew, vehicle type and specialist equipment. International journeys may also include Eurotunnel or ferry travel, road tolls and overnight arrangements. In many cases, an accompanying family member or carer can travel with the patient, subject to available seating, the patient's clinical needs and the requirements of the journey. Hearts First's long-distance ambulances are designed with patient comfort in mind and can include additional seating, luggage space, Wi-Fi, charging points, refreshments and pressure-relieving mattresses. Accompanying passengers should be discussed when requesting a quotation.
